I Moved to NY to Help Start a Yoga Studio

It’s been a crazy few months, but I moved to NY. Not NYC, but an area called Orange County, which is about 2 hours away from NYC (Port Jervis, to be exact). While it may sound out a blue, it was a decision brewing for the past few months, and I officially decided to move last October/November.

My dear friend Abby of Flourish Body + Soul is opening a studio in March, and she asked me to come teach with her. I jumped at the chance to offer an amazing, beautiful, welcoming studio in a area that doesn’t have many options available.

So in January, I packed, said goodbye, and moved to NY. Talk about a NEW year! I drove 29 hours, about 2,000 miles, with a cat in tow! I arrived at the beginning of the month of February, and we are hard at work building out the yoga studio so that it can open in March. It’s been beautiful here so far (I love the wintry weather), and people in the area have been very welcoming and friendly.

Both Abby and I have a huge heart to offer healing, welcoming classes to people from all backgrounds and levels of experience. We are a studio that will welcome anyone and everyone, and we will be offering a variety of classes–from Vinyasa flow to Restorative yoga to trauma-sensitive yoga to kids yoga. The studio is also going to be offering row classes through Upstate Row.

We can’t wait to continue to share more about the space.

The studio is expected to launch in March, so stay tuned! I will be updating all of my class information when we have the schedule officially figured out.
